Meditation 250
Two-Five-Oh and Counting

In February of 2002, I wrote in Meditation 100:

"This isn't the end by any means. I hope, in about three or four years from now, to be reflecting back on the first 250 Meditations."

I've reached that point a little earlier than expected, just 2 1/2 years later. And still the end is not in sight.

A good part of that increase is due to others submitting articles for publication. And I would like to see more. This remains an open forum.

As for my own recent writings, I do find a tendency to repeat myself on some issues, but I try to come at these repetitions from a different angle each time. You can be the judge of how successful I am at that.

How much longer do I expect to be doing this? As long as inspiration continues to come. Every time I think I'm running out of ideas, there's something in the daily news that gives me something to write about. That is where Meditations 246, 248, and 253 published at the same time as this all came from.

I do want to be doing this for a goodly number of years into the future. The author of Talk Back 43 claims on his web site that Armageddon comes in 2027. I want to be around to be able to say he was wrong. As noted in Meditation 245, the Jehovah's Witnesses are currently calling for the same event in 2034. I want to be still here in 2035 to say they were wrong, as they have been wrong for better than two centuries' worth of predictions in the past. Life insurance actuarial tables may not have me being around that long, but those odds can be beaten.

I expect to be doing this as long as I am able, and as long as I am still reaching a receptive audience.
