Mr. Petillo has done an admirable job, I think, in using Bertrand Russell’s “Celestial Teapot” piece as an opportunity to clarify his own understanding of and identification as an “agnostic.”   As to the issue of agnosticism vs: atheism however, I think Russell's What Is An Agnostic  (see: Meditation 145) speaks better to the issue of drawing a line between atheism, agnosticism, and theism than does his teapot.  One thing it has done however is to reaffirm for me the virtues of being an apathetic agnostic because even if there is a teapot in an elliptical orbit about the sun between the orbits of Earth and Mars --  What difference does it make and who cares?   So, for my part, I want to thank Mr. Petillo for bringing to light what I consider to be the perfect analogy for illustrating apathetic agnosticism:  Whether it be about gods or celestial teapots, I don’t know and I don’t care.
