They are no Guide to Morality

I can't agree that the Ten Commandments have or can serve as a guide to morality even for the religions which believe in them. There have been too many murders and other crimes committed by the religious proponents of the Ten Commandments in the name of their god to let me believe they have ever served to increase morality. The have too often been used to justify immoral actions to protect or foster religion.
