Military recognition of non-believers

There is an interesting article inthe November 12 Daily Oklahoman (the newspaper of Oklahoma City) titled

"Atheists in military seek recognition to minister to troops".

I find it disgusting that a soldier was sent "to see the post chaplain" for answering questions on a "psychological evaluation" honestly.

Hopefully, since gays in the military are finally becoming accepted (and rightfully so), maybe the military accepting atheists and agnostics (and other non-believers) will not be too far behind.

I spent 5 years in the Air Force and had to endure having "protestant" stamped on my dog tags (there was no option for any kind of non-believer).
